Wegmans opening 2 new stores this summer: See where

Wegmans, a popular grocery store chain with over 100 locations along the East Coast, is continuing to expand in 2025.

According to the company’s website, it currently has stores in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Washington, D.C., and Delaware. The company notes its expansion plans are concentrated “in the northeast and mid-Atlantic regions.”

The company says on its website that it receives thousands of requests from people who have visited their stores for the first time or moved to a place without Wegmans for the company to build a location in their town. However, the company says it only builds “two or three new stores each year.”

Here’s where the company is opening new locations in 2025, including two this summer.

Where are new Wegmans stores opening in 2025 and beyond?

Wegmans announced in December 2024 that it would be opening three new stores in 2025:

  • Lake Grove, New York: Opened on February 26
  • Rockville, Maryland: Opening on June 25
  • Norwalk, Connecticut: Opening on July 26

The Lake Grove store is the company’s first location on Long Island, according to a news release, while the Norwalk location will be the chain’s first store in Connecticut.

The Rockville location will be the company’s ninth store in Maryland, according to Wegmans.

The company also told USA TODAY in an emailed statement on June 2 that it will be opening a new store in Charlotte, North Carolina, in late 2026. New locations are also planned for Holly Springs, North Carolina, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, although opening dates for those locations have not yet been announced.
