Countless superheroes, anime stars and video game protagonists – or those dressed up as – will soon gather in San Diego for one of the most beloved pop culture events: San Diego Comic-Con.
This year’s San Diego Comic Con is July 24-27 at the San Diego Convention Center. Attendee badges have already sold out for the event, but if you missed out on grabbing a spot this year, there are still ways to watch the convention from home.
The original concept of Comic-Con was established in the early 1970s, and in 1995, the group changed its name to Comic-Con International: San Diego. In recent years, the convention has welcomed more than 130,000 attendees, according to the San Diego Comic Con website.
The weekend-long event isn’t limited to comic books, as fans of movies, television, video games and board games. Attendees can watch panels featuring some of the year’s hottest pop culture stars, explore hundreds of unique vendors, and of course, cosplay as their favorite characters.
