Amazon Prime Day doesn’t officially kick in until July 8 – and runs through July 11 – but there’s an early deal especially good for those hitting the road this July Fourth weekend.
About 61.6 million car travelers are expected to drive over the holiday weekend. If you are an Amazon Prime member, you can get a deal on gasoline at more than 7,500 Amoco, BP, and participating AM/PM locations nationwide starting Thursday, July 3, through, Sunday, July 6.
An Amazon Prime membership, which includes free deliveries, discounts at Whole Foods and free Grubhub+ membership, costs $14.99 per month or $139 per year. Young adults and those on government assistance may be eligible for a discounted Amazon Prime membership.

Amazon Prime $1 gas discount: How to get it
Amazon Prime members will need to link their membership to Earnify, the bp loyalty program, to get the deal. Then, during the July 4th weekend (July 3-6), they can get $1 off per gallon on one fuel purchase (up to 35 gallons) when they fill up at more than 7,500 Amoco, BP and participating AM/PM locations.
Once your account is linked, use the Earnify app store locator to find the nearest participating station. At the pump, redeem the offer by inputting your phone number or linked payment method – or by selecting the gas station and pump they are using in the Earnify app.
Prime members can also regularly get a 10-cent per gallon discount every day when they buy gas at participating locations, with their linked accounts.
Amazon added the 10-cent gas discount after getting feedback from Amazon Prime members, Amazon Prime vice president Jamil Ghani told USA TODAY at the time. “We always look at where we can be of value to members and every time we ask … what would make Prime even more valuable for them, it’s fuel savings,” he said.
