Jeff Bezos marries Lauren Sánchez in lavish Venice wedding
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos married journalist Lauren Sánchez in Venice with celebrity guests including the Kardashians and Tom Brady.
The “wedding of the century” has wrapped, and Kim Kardashian couldn’t be more in awe.
The reality star and Skims founder gushed about the nuptials between her friend Lauren Sánchez Bezos and husband Jeff Bezos on Friday, June 27, taking to her Instagram story to congratulate the newlyweds.
“What a beautiful bride you are,” Kardashian wrote, tagging Sánchez Bezos, the following day. “We all cried watching you walk down the (aisle) in pure bliss!”
Kardashian also revealed that the wedding venue, located on the small island of San Giorgio across the water from St. Mark’s Square, was set in a “magical” forest. “The love we all felt in the room is what we will never forget and why we all love and support you both so much,” she added. “Forever rooting for the happiest couple! You deserve it all!”
The billionaire Amazon founder and award-winning TV journalist tied the knot Friday, June 27, in an extraordinarily lavish Venice wedding, after multiple days of star-studded nuptial events. Photographers spotted A-list guests on the way to the ceremony, including Kardashian and sister Khloé Kardashian, their youngest sisters Kendall and Kylie Jenner and family matriarch Kris Jenner; Oprah Winfrey and friend Gayle King; model Brooks Nader; Leonardo DiCaprio and his model girlfriend Vittoria Ceretti; Bezos’ fellow billionaire Bill Gates; Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner; Tom Brady; and Orlando Bloom.
Vogue revealed that of the 200 guests, around 70 are the duo’s family members: “The wedding is extremely intimate,” Sánchez Bezos said.
Sánchez Bezos wore a Dolce & Gabbana silhouette dress with a high neck, adorned with 180 silk chiffon-covered priest buttons paired with a tulle-and-lace veil, inspired by a similar dress that iconic Italian actress Sophia Loren wore in the 1958 film “Houseboat,” according to a Vogue magazine exclusive.
The casually clad newlyweds were later spotted on a boat leaving the Aman hotel in Venice on Sunday, June 29, after a final night of partying capped the three-day wedding extravaganza. The couple smiled and waved to photographers as they exited.
