U.S. Army Sergeant Ethan Walker returns home to Ogden, Utah, from a year overseas in Poland to surprise his sister Mariah during homecoming.
A Utah high school homecoming queen ceremony took an incredibly emotional turn for one of the nominees.
Mariah Beckstead was being escorted onto the field by her father when U.S. Army National Guard Sergeant Ethan Walker, made a surprise appearance. Mariah had no idea her brother, who’d been stationed in Poland for a year, would be at her school’s big night.

After being granted leave, Ethan’s plan to surprise his sister worked perfectly! Mariah’s expression turning from smiles to happy tears as her brother’s appearance was announced and her little sister Grace burst from the crowd to join the emotional family reunion.
